My Reflective Writing

My Reflective Writing

Intro. In the new Manukura classroom, we have been asked to do reflective writing about how the class has been going, so in this piece of writing, I will be talking about a few topics and how I think about them.

P1. To me, the purpose of this class is to have a safe place for us and a place where we can go out of our comfort zones and do more than we would want to do in front of our original classmates. Another purpose of the class would be to make the learning fun for us and to make it entertaining what we are learning. At the moment I’m able to keep up my work and submit it on time which is much better than how I was in my old class where I struggled to get it in on time and it would be only the bare minimum amount of work but in the Manukura class it’s far better and finished on time.

P2. Before I started the morning Manukura in the morning I didn’t like school and only came to see my friends, but one day my older brother came to me and asked if I wanted to go with him to Manukura so he dragged me along and I loved it I felt like I could be myself but it was just a good environment for me to be there. Manukura changed how I looked at things and gave me a reason to come to school and to be the best I could be. At some point in the day, Sam Ward will have to leave and teach another class so we are left to work by ourselves some people have trouble staying on task but for me, I’m able to stick to what I have to do and being respectful to others around me but at points I could sway of task and have a small talk to a friend. I do have some pros and cons about the class. Some pros are we get a generous amount of time to finish our work and we have the choice to do it in our own time, and the class is a safe place and we can all be in a comfortable place where everyone is included, and I really like that we quite a bit of freedom with the work that has been assigned to us, also it’s cool that all the work is easy to access for students and parents. Now some of the cons are that we are all boys that liked P.E but we can’t go to P.E so it’s a bummer that we don’t have P.E anymore, some worries the students have are that we are behind the other classes in the academic principles and credits we could get, but sometimes the trust we get is taken advantage of which makes it seem like we are not giving Sam the respect he deserves for giving us this chance to be in a space that we can learn the ways we like want too.

P3. Something I think we could do to improve the Manukura workspace is to have more physical activities like going outside and having a small run around every now and then, some more things we could do is to be stricter on things especially when Sams isn’t there so we could assign a well-trusted student to lead the class and make sure they're on task. We could also do a little bit more paperwork so we are not on devices all the time and it could mean we are paying more attention to what’s going on. Last but not least we could treat/acknowledge those that do the work and it's done nicely. Some important things I have noticed over the past four weeks is that this space is a place where we can do so much that we wouldn’t dare do in our old class. We all can be comfortable around each other in this class and it's good for us to have that sort of place at this age.

Conclusion. I can proudly say that this class is amazing. It's really good for me mentally and physically, I can't wait for next year when I’ll have this class for the whole year. I just want to say a big thank you to Sam for the hours of work he put into this class. I hope you enjoy reading the many works I have put down.

Just a note there are 757 works so hope you had fun.
